Research Data Management

Many funding agencies require research data produced as part of a funded project to be made publicly available.

Many agencies have established requirements for data sharing and formal data management plans, with many increasingly aligning themselves with the “Practical Guide to the International Alignment of Research Data Management” by Science Europe. Templates

Templates for data management plans are based on the specific requirements listed in funder policy documents.

Many individual journals have policies requiring open access to the data that underlies a publication, for the purposes of replication and further research. The Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) have developed a resource for tracking and understanding agencies’ sharing policies for publications and data.
