GMIT Libraries: COVID-19 Updates

This guide covers library services for Sept 2021-May 2022

Access to the library building

Opening Hours: September 20th 2021 onward

Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 6.00pm, Friday online library only.

Friday CLOSED (online access)

The safety of users and staff will be the top priority. Re-opening will be limited and restricted but it will be constantly under review in line with public health and Institute guidance.

Access to the library for registered students and staff of GMIT will only be for study space use and must be pre-booked and limited to 2 hours maximum while maintaining 2m distancing at all times.

Alcohol wipes will be placed nearby and please ensure that you wipe down the:

  • Desk
  • Chair

before and after use

Only one user at a time will be permitted to browse the journal shelves.

One user at a time will be permitted to use the printer/copier/scanner. 

Sanitise hands on entry/exit to the library. Library users must adhere to 2m physical distancing at all times and abide by all safety signage throughout the building. Wearing of face masks will be mandatory while accessing the library.

If you have symptoms of COVID19 you must not visit the library.

If you have been in close contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID19 you must not visit the library.

We encourage all library users to download the COVID19 tracker app for your own health and safety and that of others.
