Library Essentials

Welcome to GMIT Libraries

We have four GMIT campus libraries – the Galway Campus, Centre for Creative Arts and Media (CCAM), Mayo Campus, and Letterfrack Campus.

Our mission is to promote a learning culture within GMIT by acquiring, organising, disseminating and providing access to learning resources and services in a congenial environment. The library will support teaching, learning, research and regional development by providing a customer based service to our students, staff and stakeholders.

Our Library Guides (LibGuides) are created based on your subject area in the Institute. We have also created guides with specific library information such as online resources, library training and guides for those involved in research.

This guide is designed to introduce you to library services and facilities, and should help to answer any questions you may have such as how to borrow library material, how many items you can check out, how to print and copy etc.

Please find a link for some of our helpful tutorials below, including a tour of the Galway campus. Please remember that our Information desk is always staffed to answer any further questions you may have.

Library staff are looking forward to meeting your needs throughout the academic year
